Hi everyone. Many of the people that post on this board love Nirvana. So I was wondering what is your favourite NIRVANA record?

Bleach is definitely the most raw album nirvana made and in my opinion the best ever. However, Pennyroyal Tea unplugged was a verry deep and vulnerable song. Verry beautiful when he sings it "by himself"! Personally I love Kurt when he is singing "Hairspray Queen". For me, BLEACH is the best album. And I really do like Chad Channing. Does anyone else likes his drumbeat? greetings, Alfabiermonster

I like Chad drum work but I still think Dave is better than him. I love the unplugged stuff too. They actually think if Kurt was hadn't of killed himself he was going to do more music like that and that would've been awesome. Too bad he couldn't handle life anymore.

You can like a Nirvana song without liking Nirvana. Just like you can like Nirvana without liking every song they make.

I agree with Dirtgrrl and Doll parts. You can't be bias like that. That's like one rule applies to you and another more restricttive one applies to everyone else.

Hmm...naw. I love The Doors, but found Jim Morrison to be an obnoxious pr*ick. Some of the s-hit he pulled was unbelievable. He's another one with a "shady" death. Latest rumor has it he's alive and well and living as a cowboy out west. ;D Maybe he and "River's Cuomo" could do a duet someday.

So I need to respect the lead singer to enjoy the music? Whoa that sucks. You don't need to respect them as an person but you do need to respect as an artist on some level. Otherwise, why are you listening to them? I don't really care if people buy Courtney's records and don't find her a good character because 90% of the time I don't see as a nice and pleasant person. And that doesn't mean I don't think she can write a good tune.

people listen to certain artists music because they like the song. they really don't care about the artist or band. people just listen to some music because it makes them happy but that doesn't mean you have to worship or live the lifestyle of the artist. look at one hit wonders.

You don't need to respect them as an person but you do need to respect as an artist on some level. Haha. That's f**king ridiculous. Music is just music and people listen to it for different reasons. Take the Smashing Pumpkins for example: Billy Corgan has one of the most horrible singing voices ever that sometimes makes me want to punch him in the face several times but I still like the music they made. Or the Pixies: incredible band but do I like Frank Black's solo records? No, I don't. How about The Cure? Have they written some amazing songs? Yes. Have they also produced some of the most inexcusable dirge known to man? Yes. That's what music is. It is a living breathing document of somebody's or a group of peoples life at a certain point in time. It's up to you what you listen to but it has nothing to do with respect or artistic ability.

f**k Courtney you've gone to topic I will argue the toss with you about. How can you say Frank Blacks solo stuff isn't good. Fair enough it's no Surfer Rose but Pistolareo and Cult of Ray not to mention Teenager of the Year [how good is Pong] are magnifcent records. Frank is awesome. You're just picking on the fat kid. FRANK BLACK IS AWESOME.
People listen to what music they like, they don't need to like the artist as a person but if your listening to their music doesn't that mean you respect them as an artist? You are after all enjoying their art and buying it.
