27 is a dangerous age for rock musicians! I loved Jimi Hendrix--remember when he played the National Anthem on electric guitar at Woodstock? (okay, I was 5! But I remember!) What a talent! He made the "Rockets red glare" sound so realistic. He was also one of the first black musicians to "rock out" and make something of himself. And Janis, I love her song "O Lord, Won't You Buy Me A Mercedes Benz" it cracks me up. "Bobby McGee" was amazing too. Jim Morrison, what a sick f**k he was, but I loved "Light My Fire" and "The End." I read his biography years ago and it left the impression that he faked his death and "Mr Mojo will be rising" one of these days. Interesting, but doubtful. Supposedly his girlfriend was the only one who saw his dead body and the press wasn't notified until three days after his burial, which leaves room for speculation. Wouldn't it be cool, though? Mr Mojo rises and comes back to us. After my initial gladness though, I would probably want to kick his ass for pulling such a stunt!
