COURTNEY LOVE's estranged father HANK HARRISON is planning to team up with KURT COBAIN's grandfather to fight for access to the two rockers' daughter FRANCES BEAN COBAIN. LELAND COBAIN and author and journalist Harrison claim never to have met 14-year-old Frances, because of Love's "sheer vindictiveness", Harrison claims. The pair are concerned about reports of Love's drug abuse and the effect it'll have on Frances' upbringing. Harrison - who has been estranged from Love since she was a teenager - says, "This month I am proceeding to Seattle to meet with Frances' great grandfather, Leland Cobain. "Leland has never been allowed to visit his own great grandchild. Leland and I have been in touch by email, mail and telephone and we are in agreement that something must be done about Courtney's aberrant behaviour. The only answer we can come up with is, sheer vindictiveness, a violent and vicious personality."

Crazy Courtney Love story of the day: the former human pincushion’s father, Hank Harrison, is lashing out at his daughter after Love insisted he fed her drugs and was responsible for the drug deaths of gig goers at a 1969 festival. The author claims his estranged daughter is out to destroy his reputation in an attempt to discredit his forthcoming book, Lovekills: The Assassination of Kurt Cobain, about the death of Love’s famous husband.

“My father was this shyster who would get money from the government to make LSD and bad LSD,” Love recently told Rolling Stone, adding she was given acid when she was only four years old.

Harrison’s now hitting back, saying Love is just afraid of him exposing her.

"How could any three-year-old child remember if she was given LSD or not? She wasn't,” he said, the World Entertainment News Network reports. "Courtney is attempting to sully my reputation to nullify my credibility as a journalist and author. She has seen and read my book, Lovekills: The Assassination of Kurt Cobain, and is petrified that it might come out by some major publisher, especially in the U.K. and Territories where she holds sway.”

Love has also claimed her father was responsible for the infamous deaths documented in the film Gimme Shelter, which shows how Hells Angels security guards and an out of control Rolling Stones gig turned into disaster.

“Allegedly, the brown acid at Altamont [Music Festival] was his,” she told Rolling Stone. “He can’t go to Marin County, because [name redacted] apparently has a hit out on him.”

Harrison is defending himself by saying he’s “a writer not a chemist,” claiming he has neither the desire nor the education to make LSD.

COURTNEY LOVE's estranged father claims the rocker has fooled the press into sympathising with her cause, because she is a genius with a super high IQ.
The pair are battling over Love's claims HANK HARRISON fed her drugs as a child - Harrison insisting her claims are lies intended to discredit him and his book about her and the death of her late husband, rocker KURT COBAIN.
Harrison says, "She's smarter than you. She's smarter than me too. She has a photographic memory and an IQ in the super genius category.
"Hard to believe, I know, but I tested her when she was five and again when she was 16. She's also a drunk, just like my father, and I have all the scars and the DNA to prove it."

Courtney Love's Family Feud

PARENT TRAP LoveWith a memoir and a promising new album on the way, Courtney Love finally seems to be getting her act together. But will a legal fight between her attention-hungry parents ruin her comeback?
Earlier this month, Hank Harrison, Love's estranged father, sent a letter to Random House/Doubleday, which is publishing Her Mother's Daughter, a memoir by Love's mom, Linda Carroll. The letter, addressed from the law offices of Melvin Belli, Esq., accuses Doubleday of issuing a press release about the book that prompted Fox News to air "defamatory and libelous language designed to hurt our client." The false statements, according to the letter, include claims that Harrison, a writer of New Age books, painted graffiti on Love's naked body when she was a child and plied her with "magic pills."

"This implies illicit and abusive drugs and further implies our client is evil," reads the letter. "Doubleday's failure to fact check comments like the above and to slant the comments toward our client is clearly designed to purposefully and maliciously defame his reputation."

Despite all this verbal fist-shaking, Harrison's attorneys aren't yet seeking damages, but only that Doubleday remove the disputed claims from the book, which comes out in January. Doubleday didn't respond to requests for comment, but a source who has read the finished version of Carroll's book says the changes appear to have been made, possibly even before the threat from Harrison. "Everything Carroll writes about him reads as if it had been carefully lawyered," the source adds. (Harrison didn't return messages, meanwhile, and the only attorney Radar found by the name of Melvin Belli insisted he'd had nothing to do with the letter, raising the possibility that Harrision had faked it.)

Love's own book, Dirty Blonde, contains virtually nothing about her father and not much more about her mother among its scrapbook-like entries. In a recent interview with the Times of London, she says, "I don't really have parents. I have never had parents. I haven't spoken to my father in 25 years. My mother claims I have spoken to her, but I haven't."

But knowing their daughter wants nothing to do with them won't shut Harrison and Carroll up. Notes the source, "He's a slimeball who wants publicity and would take any occasion to get his name into print, and she hates her daughter and wants her to die."


UPDATE: A Random House spokesman confirms the receipt of Harrison's letter, but says it was actually sent in October 2005—which explains how the lawyers were able to vet Carroll's claims before galleys went out.

COURTNEY LOVE's father is planning to become the next DAN BROWN with a historical non-fiction novel he boasts is "more exciting than THE DA VINCI CODE".
Journalist and author HANK HARRISON is currently involved in a bitter feud with his estranged daughter, who he claims is trying to discredit the book, GLASTONBURY AND THE GRAIL, and another he has written about her and the death of her late husband, rocker KURT COBAIN.
He says, "Her overall motive is to ruin my career as she knows my work on Glastonbury and the Grail is definitive.
"She knows I studied with FRANCES YATES at the Warburg Institute in London and that I am the recipient of several awards for writing. If I were to find a publisher for my work on Glastonbury and the Grail, which is far more exciting than the Da VInci I would gain credibility in regards my work on Cobain. Thus anything she says is a tissue of lies."
