The time frame from the first meeting until the exhibition was about seven months. The work for the exhibition is mostly Chicks On Speed influenced work, but also pieces that sprang up in and around this influence too. Sometimes though, when I needed to make other work, their influence was still present (this got a bit obsessive and frustrating at times)
They wrote a new song about Courtney Love after seeing images of her half naked stumbling around in the street, posing in a car, lieing down with her legs apart getting her anus waxed - their email to me was called „Courtney Love wax my anus“. And a repeated lyric in their song is „Waxing my anus is what she said“. I made this piece using the images they sent me, but I cut Courtney´s head off – Alex said „we gotta be careful here, you wouldn´t want her as your enemy“. The images are set in a disgusting, grey sillicon – a hommage to those fake boobs she prances.
