The first band I ever got into was The Beatles. The White album was amazing; it gave rock a newer, more psychodelic sound. I also loved Queen; Night at the Opera was brilliant and Bohemian Rapsody gave me nightmares for weeks. But the first concert I attended was The Doobie Brothers, Minute-by-Minute Tour, at the Cape Cod Colleseum in 1978. I was 15 then and so excited about my first concert I was all over the place. While we waited for the show to start my friends and I tossed around frisbees in the auditorium and smoked weed; everyone was doing it and right out in the open so it was no big deal. I thought it all rather sophisicated. ;D The show was awesome! The Doobies were young back then and kind of hot and they revved the audience up so much that night we were all screaming. There rendition of "Black Water was amazing too. By the end of the show (plus 3 encores)my ears were ringing, I was hoarse from shouting, and so d**ned stoned I could barely walk. What a great time! WTF?!?! I'm soooo freakin' old!!!!

The first band I really got into was Blondie when I was about 12 -yes Blondie! Their early stuff was quite punky in a sweet kind of way. I then progressed onto Bauhaus (anyone remember them- Hippie do you?)- gothic punk- GREAT. Then quite a lot of Joy Division and stuff like that. Got into Nirvana and the Pumpkins many years ago. I've always liked the 'darker' and 'heavier' side of music.

I don't remember much about Bauhaus but I LOVED Blondie. I went to see the movie "American Gigalo" only because I wanted to hear the song "Call Me." The movie itself really sucked, though Richard Gere was pretty young then and GORGEOUS. There was a full-frontal nude shot of him in the movie, however and I remember perking up for that scene. ;D "Heart of Glass" was also a great one Blondie did. Rumor had it that before Blondie became big Debby Harry use to party with Nancy Spungeon when Nancy lived in New York. As a matter of fact, Debby Harry was the one who bleached Nancy's hair. They bleached it in Debby Harry's kitchen. I loved The Ramone's too, and the Kinks. For dark, goth music, Alice Cooper was the one I listened to. "Schools Out For Summer" and "Eighteen" were the songs I always sang to annoy the nuns at school. ;D Pink Floyd's "The Wall" was pretty big in those days too. I wished I'd seen them in concert! Ya got good taste in music, kiddo! ;D

The first band that I ever paid any real attention was Nirvana. I loved them. And I still love them. 12 years of listening to them. The second band I found a connection to was Silverchair. I guess not much has changed.

well my first band i ever liked as in real music would be phantom planet. because yeah i'm a little younger than you guys. i loved the beatles too. but phantom planet was the first band that i realized after i grew out of the crappy kiddie pop. my favorite band now is nirvana. they weren't my first band though because i was like five when they were big so i can't really say that i was a dedicated fan since the beginning of nirvana.
