Hey Floyd, Don't you think the best lyrics are on BLEACH? Why else did you toke your name from this album?

Bleach is definitely way more raw and 'underground' than other Nirvana albums which became too mainstream. Thats what Kurt wanted, but when they released Smells Like Teen Spirit theres no way that they could've stayed underground. Personally, I think that the lyrics from 'In Utero' are f**kin unbelievable - it totally charts the feelings of a man on the edge - a prime example being 'Rape Me'. I also think that Dave Grohl added a lot to the songwriting of the group and he only came in after Bleach. There are some fantastic lyrics and songs on Bleach though. 'Blew' and 'About A Girl' are just amazing songs and two of my favourites. When it comes down to it tough, it depends on which Nirvana you prefer - pre or post hype.

Yes Floyd, I agree, except the part you're saying about Dave. If he was such an eloquent writer why is it I can't see those talents back with "the foo fighters"? It seems to me Dave always liked to be a frontman and now he is it's (in my opinion) rubbish he sings. If nirvana hasn't exists does he had the same opportunity he has now? Would he be as succesfull he now looks like he is? It's well known why Chad Channing was banned from nirvana, but he could really hit his drums. Verry sorry he had to leave! You love the lyricks on in utero? They are, and just like you said they are, the words of a man totally on the edge. That's why I prefer the bleach album. It's Kurt's most lovin' way to play music and you can feel it. Nevermind sounds more like if he wants to tell people about misery and how to defy that. In utero sounds like giving it all up and explaining himself. But whatever, Kurt is dead. Not like his lagacy whitch will always go on!! By the way, Floyd, what do you think about the cover "Love Buzz" written by my fellow countryman Robbie van Leeuwen? Did you ever listen to Shocking Blue? Sorry but I don't know much about Green Day maybe I just have to take a look at your forum. greeting, alfabiermonster

I disagree about Dave. I like the Foo's although Dave is a much better drummer than he is a frontman. Also, don't forget that it was Dave who wrote the majority of Smells Like Teen Spirit which is an awesome song. If you ask anyone who their favourite album is you're a million times likely to hear them say Dave Grohl than Chad Channing - which I think is justified. Bleach is a good album it's just a bit too inexperienced for me to call it my favourite album. I mean, if I am honest then you have to admit that most people only have the album because it is a historical curiosity. That's not to say its a bad album, I quite like a lot of the songs. They totally personify exactly what Grunge is about. But I just don't think it's Nirvana at their best. 'Love Buzz' I think is one of the better songs from the album. It winds up giving a true menace to their sound, thanks to its menacing melody. As for 'In Utero' I think it has the best lyrics simply because of the raw emotion which is evident throughout. Although I fully agree with you in that 'Bleach' is an album where Kurt is clearly enjoying making music - unaffected by fame, heroine or courtney. This makes it essential to any fan of Nirvana.

Dave is absolutly a better drummer then he is a frontman. Yes, when you say, smells like teen spirit IS a great song! And ofcourse millions of people will say Dave is nirvana's best drummer only becouse they don't know or heard about Chad! That must be becouse people only heard about nirvana after Kurt's death (you have said it yourself). Bleach was the first album I knew. And really think it is in fact the most raw grunge you'll ever will be hearing. I do agree In Utero does have the most introvert tracks Kurt wrote. It makes me go in tears and let me think about my live in general. It's not happy at all. I prefer Bleach just becouse it is raw and real jamming. Floyd, you didn't say if you've ever heard of Schokking Bleu. greetings, alfabiermonster

Yeah the guy simply copied my title headings descriptions through copy and paste, and then when I challenged him about it on my forum heres the response I got: "yeah i know, sorry, i'm really the laziest person on earth, its getting rediculous. the light bulb has busted in the kitchen and i have to use a torch to make my dinner cuz i'm too lazy to change it. anyone want to be a mod on my forum and fix all the headings up etc? i can't be arsed." Thankfully one of the mods on there changed most of them now but I was still pretty peeved.
