www.nola.com/living/t-p/index.ssf?/base/living-4/1103180259211770.xml#continueCourtney behaving badly Love stiffs her hotel Thursday, December 16, 2004 Chris Rose Things can go either way when you make your living riffing on the glitterati. For instance, I kinda developed a low-grade guilt complex when I wrote about grunge rocker Courtney Love's visit to town a month ago. By most accounts, she was an exemplary citizen during her brief stay, visiting local businesses and abiding by the parameters of both the Civil and Criminal Codes, which for her is no easy task. She has allegedly quit drinking, quit injecting elephant tranquilizers into her bloodstream and she hasn't been arrested for assault in at least eight weeks so maybe I should have gone easy on her, cut her slack and not rehashed her inglorious past while she tries to get her life together. That's what I was thinking until I found out that she skipped town without paying her hotel bill. Flat out stiffed the International House. Room, meals, valet -- nada. Nothing. The larger question is just why you would let this notoriously sleazy drama queen check into your hotel without offering any security in the first place but, hey: What do I know about running a hotel? I guess folks at the International House should look on the bright side: At least she didn't trash the room, proving there are some dregs of decency left in the woman. After weeks of haranguing by hotel officials, Love's management company last week finally sent a check paying her tab. Although I don't imagine the housekeeping tip amounted to very much....

Simply unbelievable! That dumb ol broad is still trying it on!
You'd think that with her impending court case that she want to stay out of trouble or a least not to be found to be gathering more bad publicity!
Hope that she still thinks that it's 'punk rock' when Hotels start refusing her admission for being such a cheap non-paying b!tch. I don't suppose it occured to the selfish wh0re that if everybody did that, the workers would be the ones who didn't get their wages... she really is the most disgusting human being! But hey, you guys already knew that. Axxx

Amazing, isn't it? She's up to her eyeballs in legal battles and yet she pulls a stunt like this. What the hell is going through her head? Does she still think she is "above it all" so she can do what she wants? There's a word for people like this, rich or poor: deadbeat.

Not to be mean, Danielle, but you've made excuses for Courtney in the past yourself, so you'll forgive me if I don't take your post seriously.

Not to be mean, Danielle, but you've made excuses for Courtney in the past yourself, so you'll forgive me if I don't take your post seriously. I think my excuses are little better formulated than the above post. I only defend Courtney when I think she's worth defending. I'm not going to be bias. It's not like I constantly defend her. Dirtgrrl came up with the term courtney neutral I'm neutral, I'm just observing and putting in a comment here and there

Oh really? Danielle wrote:Again I state, Kurt's heroin levels were THREE TIMES THE LETHAL DOSAGE; EVEN A HARDCORE JUNKIE COULD NOT WITHSTAND THAT AMOUNT. I pointed out a case in point with actor Robert Pastorelli, who didn't even have a chance to pull the needle out of his arm before he died, vomiting and defecating as he did so. Kurt's death scene was neat and tidy and his hair even looked "combed" and several shot gun experts, including his grandfather, Leland Cobain, and guitarist Ted Nugent, both whom have been avid hunters most of their lives, have testified that the shotgun was "placed" on his chest because the backfire would have sent it flying across the room on impact. I've also challanged you to find a case similar to Kurt's in which the victim had the same heroin levels and did what he supposedly did before shooting himself. Your response is ridiculous and unrealistic and your theory of "tolerance" has been shot down again and again by real experts who know the world is round, not flat. Your not neutral, your wishy-washy and closing your eyes to the obvious. If you think the tolerance level is a factor, PROVE IT. Back it up, as I and others on this board have. I've never stated Courtney was the one who killed Kurt, but I have said that the case needs to be reopened and she needs to take a polygraph to prove her innocence and your response is "why should she pay for that? That's not fair." Well, you know what else isn't fair? The death of an innocent man who only wanted to play music and love his daughter; an obvious murder staged to look like a suicide and a young girl growing up without a father. Frankly, if I were under suspicion like Courtney, fair or not, I would foot the bill to take a polygraph and prove to the world I wasn't lying and once I was cleared I'd recoup my losses by suing the living sh1t out of the accuser who made me take this step. Fair?? Please! Life isn't fair and death doesn't play favorites but the guilty sooner or later get caught and if Courtney is innocent she needs to prove it. If she passes a polygraph I will personally post an elaborate apology for my suspicions and post "Courtney Rules" 500 times on the board not to mention buy every album she ever MADE, whether I like it or not and PWC will go Courtney herself and say "I'm not worthy" to her 200 times while licking her shoe, ILATO will hold her cigarettes for her while she smokes and tolerate her blowing the smoke in her face and Andrea will be her personal hair-comber for a year and put up with her temper tantrums. Hell, I'll even pay for the polygraph in the interest of "fairness." It's the only way Courtney will ever get this monkey off her back; a polygraph. Then at least we can eliminate her as a suspect and find the real killer. But there's no doubt in my mind and the minds of other posters on this board. KURT WAS MURDERED.

I use to think to Kurt was murdered but I don't now. I've researched it all and I think it's abig game that publishes are playing. When I listen to Nirvana I hear a man in pain, maybe from the pressures form his wife but nevertheless. I don't think he was murdered.
The Credit Card- I don't know how this rumour started that someone was using Kurts credit card because that was impossible because it had been suspended because of his treatment at Exodus. So how could some one run up a $5000 CHARGE?
Prenup. If Courtney wanted Kurts money so bad than why did she set up a pernup with Kurt before they got married and after Kurt had become a millionaire? Seems a bit weird if she just wanted his money.
The gun that was used was brought for Kurt by Dylan Carlson at Stan Barker sports. He didn't see Courtney after he purchased the gun so how would the murderer know that was the gun to use?She didn't even know he had bought it.
Courtney was indeed in LA for a reason. She was promoting the next Hole record Live through this. Several interviews date from this period.
And the person Brad Barnett who claims Kurt told him he feared for his life has now beeen discreditted. There wereno witnesses to back up his claims.
Another hoax exists too. This straight from Tom Grants webpage April 2004 Update: In the new book Love & Death: The Murder of Kurt Cobain, Allen Wrench is interviewed. Wallace and Halperin ask "Was Kurt Cobain's death a murder or suicide?". Wrench says "suicide all the way [...] because I'm not going to incriminate myself". (Page 263). Wallace and Halperin seem to conclude that Wrench wanted them to believe he had killed Kurt Cobain and Eldon Hoke to gain notoriety for his band, and because he enjoys that people speculate he was involved. With the release of the book, there were statements from both sides regarding the interview. Wrench's attorney Saul Libowitz said "Mr. Wrench has repeatedly stated that he had no involvement with the assassinating of Kurt Cabain. Allen has long ignored allegations of being the assassin of Kurt Cobain, but in recent days has decided to make a formal statement on that manner." Halperin responded with I respect his statements and position on the matter. I also respect any action Allen Wrench may take against me in the future regarding the release of my latest book: Love and Death: The Murder of Kurt Cobain. I also have extensive video footage of my one-on-one interviews with Mr. Wrench, where I personally challenge and question him, face to face, on his involvement with the Cobain murder. This video footage will be released at a later date.”
If all these hoaxes exist now can you imagine which ones will exist in 5 years time?

The problem with wanting a polygraph is that it makes a mockery of the Justice system and you don't seem to understand that. NO ONE not even Courtney Love should sit through something unless they've been charged with an offence. And why should she spend her extra money to keep a small selection of people at bay. It's wrong and IT'S UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

The Justice System had already been made a mockery of the day the coroner came in (a close, personal friend of Courtney's btw) and declared the scene a suicide before the investigation was completed. It was made a mockery when Tom Grant, with hard evidence, went to detective Cameron and was refused to be taken seriously and it was especially made a mockery of when Cameron, noted for his integrity, was forced to resign after being caught red-handed stealing evidence. There was never a proper investigation done; it was automatically dismissed as another junkie suicide. As far as Kurt being suicidal, that all changed when Frances was born and later his stomach ailment was diagnosed and treated properly. His friends said that his whole outlook on life changed and he himself said "I've never been happier in my life." People, including Courtney's own entertainment lawyer, were shocked at his suicide and Rosemary worked with Tom Grant for months gathering information that was very d**ning to Courtney. This is a woman whom Kurt and Courtney looked to as a surrogate mother and best friend; Frances' godmother. Yet she too was very suspicious. As for Dylan buying him the shotgun, he stated to Tom Grant and others he didn't think Kurt was suicidal or he never would have bought the gun for him. Previously, after a fight with Courtney in which the police were called in, all Kurt's guns were confiscated, which is why he bought the new gun and it was the only gun he had, so what else could the murderer use? He also kept his guns in the same place, in the back of his closet, and anyone close to Kurt knew that.
The credit card did not run up $5000.00 but rather somebody kept trying to use it up until 3 minutes before Kurt's body was found. It was attempted to be used 3 or 4 times in the AMOUNT TOTALING about $5000.00 but since Courtney had cancelled the card, the charges didn't go through. You need to read more carefully before stating something like $5000 worth of charges were made on the card. As for the pre-nup, Courtney stated she had the pre-nup drawn up because "I was going to be more famous than Kurt." and she wanted to protect her interests, if any. The hoaxes are real, but Tom has unreleased evidence to decipher the real from the fake, many hoaxes which were put out by Courtney herself to discredit Tom Grant, which hasn't been done yet because he's much too hip to her ways to allow it to happen. He was the one who discredited both the Brad Barnett hoax and the Allen Wrench hoax before anyone else.
As for the polygraph, she's not required to take one, true, but her own father arranged for her to take a polygraph at his own expense and she still refused. If I were innocent, I would have taken him up on it, whether he's a piece of sh1t or not, to put those rumors to rest once and for all, and she also has never come right out and said "I didn't kill my husband." Ever. She's had spokespeople make prepared statements on her behalf, but has never issued a verbal statement of her own. Why? Maybe because she would open a can of worms she doesn't care to open? What's she trying to hide? Like I said, I'd pay for the test myself to get to the truth, as would any of Kurt's friends and fans, just to get to the bottom of this once and for all. What's with all the secrecy? Why not just throw the case wide open and put this to rest once and for all? She's never sued Tom Grant for his allegations, she who sues at the drop of a hat, but has left Tom and his accusations alone. I am very suspicious.
It's been ten years since Kurt died, yet instead of getting it together, Courtney has been spiraling out-of-control more and more. Why? You'd think after ten years she'd have managed to put her life back together and while she always carried Kurt in her heart, would be able to find love again. But she hasn't; instead she's assaulting people, taking drugs, going to court more than she goes to the bathroom and basically crashing and burning, with her sanity ebbing bit-by-miserable bit. Only a person with a heavy heart and soul would fall apart like this after ten years. As a person gets older she begins to recognize her own mortality and the inevitable death that comes to us all and fear of the afterlife is a very real thing. To those who have committed great evil, God becomes a fearsome thing as the knowledge that someday one has to look his/her maker in the eye and know you can't lie to HIM. Is she one of those people? Perhaps. She's backed against the wall and more-and-more people are beginning to realize the murder theory is not just a hoax but in retrospect, with all the information, makes alot of sense and the only way the truly innocent can be exhonerated is by a polygraph. Some day, she may have no choice. The more she resists, the guiltier she looks and nobody knows that better than Courtney.
And as for your tolerance theory? Bullsh1t. Prove it.

I used to think Kurt killed himself along with everyone else, and even at the beginning of this year I still tried making excuses, anything to fool myself in believing he wanted to die, he pulled the trigger, it was his choice and no one was involved in his death other than himself.I told myself that "Oh well people are trying to make a modern day Sid and Nancy of some sort", "Kurt wouldn't file for a divorce after what it did to his life he'd manage living with Courtney for Frances' sake".It's not working anymore. There are too many strange things surrounding this case for me to turn the other cheek.
Even if you believe that Kurt killed himself (which is reasonable believe me I've been there) you would be lieing if you said there was nothing suspicious about his death.

Same here until I accidentally stumbled onto Tom Grants web-page which fascinated the hell out of me. After that, I spent hours researching Kurt's death and Courtney herself, even down-loading her music videos and studying her pre-surgery/post-surgery self. She's a fascinating woman; smart, talented (to a point), clever, and very, very devious. She's also a self-admitted liar. My conclusion so far has been she had motive and opportunity and she's smart enough to actually pull something like a staged suicide off if she wanted too. I don't think Kurt killed himself; he loved his daughter too much to do something that horrible and he was "pretty upbeat" according to Dylan, despite the fact that he was facing some pretty heavy things. He had everything to live for, why would he suddenly just decide to end it all? It doesn't make sense. People have said, "Of course he committed suicide. Just listen to his lyrics" but I don't buy that. Kurt himself was the king of irony and has admitted that his lyrics were "as serious as a joke can be." If I have to decide who to believe, Kurt or Courtney- the-self-admitted liar, I'll believe Kurt. If Courtney didn't have it done, she knows something about his death. What fascinates me most is Courtney is on tape talking to Tom Grant as if he were already dead although his body hadn't been found yet and later the message she left on his answering machine that said "You didn't tell, you know, out-and-out lies. I wish you were doing it for the money and knowing your not hurts me." She was hurt, not angry, which doesn't make sense, and actually admitted he didn't tell "out-and-out lies." Why hasn't she sued him if she's innocent? She sues everybody else, why not him? It's too suspicious to ignore. That and the fact she's never come out and said "I didn't do it; I didn't kill my husband." Never. She's never made a public statement addressing the accusations either, which is strange because an innocent person would be eager to prove her innocence so they can find the real killer. Hmmm.....

I think that her whole attitude to Cobain's death has been one of opportunism and indifference. It's ironic when you think that she callously used the event to hijack Nirvana's fanbase to support Hole and today a great deal of those fans have rejected her because of her refusal to clear her name in his death as well as the little regard she has shown for the memory of Kurt in later interviews (coupled with her skanky behaviour). Even if she wasn't involved in his death, her relentless egotism and famewh0ring is digusting. I recall being totally repulsed (and losing any iota of feeling I might have possessed for her as a recently bereft widow) when I read a police statement (Love & Death? Smoking Gun?) that very shortly after he had died, Love had requested the shotgun from the SPD for use in some publicity venture (gun amnesty?) before it being re-returned back to the SPD and later destroyed. The way the the statement was written showed that even the SPD were confounded and annoyed by this bizarre request. I remember thinking for days afterwards: What type of person, loses a husband but can still view use of his 'suicide' means as way for securing publicity for herself? It really disgusted me. I can't believe that when Kurt died she had any feeling for him, apart from how she could use his death to her own advantage. You can write your conclusion on what she must be like as a person. "Andrea will be her personal hair-comber for a year and put up with her temper tantrums" Awww Hippiechild, pleaaaase! LOL ;D I wouldn't be able to refrain from pulling great clumps out at the roots and shrieking "That's from Belissa Cohen! That's from Greg Burgett! That's from Kristin King! That's from Kathleen Hanna!" She wouldn't have a skanky hair on her head left! Could be an improvement, eh ILATO? It's not like she brushes it anyway... I think that I can probably speak for PWC as well to say that we'd still be here rejecting her even if she was innocent of having any involvement in Cobain's death: She's a disgusting human being with no real values, and I don't want to see her grossness on TV or in the papers any more. Prison. I may quit posting when she's in prison and has disappeared from public view... Axxx
