I haven't read all of this thread but I had to respond because its about Tom Grant.
Can't you see that he was just out for his five minutes of fame which he has stretched out for nearly 10 years. When courtney hired him to find kurt, he saw this as an excellent opportunity to cash in on fame and fortune. All his so-called leads and proof are absoloute rubbish.
There was NOTHING suspicious about kurts death. There is nothing to investiagte.
As far as I'm concerned, saying there was something suspicious about kurt's death is as ridiculous as saying Elvis is still alive.
Get real and stuff Grant.

Sorry Rocket, I'm taking issue with you on this one. There is much about Kurts death that is very suspicious and I think Grant is really on to something. The most damaging evidence, the testimony of El Duce and the fact that sleeze though he was, he PASSED the lie detector test and 10 days later, after his interview with Nick Broomfield, he's dead. Also the deaths of Kristin Pfaff, who was ready to leave Seattle and Courtney as well as the death of Detective Terry. There is a trail of dead bodies and each one is connected to Courtney somehow. Also, the gun had no legible fingerprints on it. The gun was purchased for Kurt by Dylan, Kurts best friend and was at the very least, handled by the salesman, Dylan and Kurt, yet there were NO fingerprints? It does't make sense. Also, the handwriting analysis on the "suicide note" that didn't read like a suicide note until the last four lines, when suddenly the handwriting changed. Several handwriting experts have stated that it's not Kurts writing; Then there was the Rome incident which is murky; accident, suicide attempt or homicide attempt? And Courtney telling Rosemary Carroll to find the "meanest, most vicious divorce lawyer you can find" and her obsession with Lollapolooza and Kurts Will. Too many unanswered questions. True, none of this is concrete evidence against Courtney but it does ask for a reopening of the case.
I would think Courtney, if she's innocent, would be anxious after 10 years of rumor, innuendo, and outright accusations, to prove her innocence and would be petitioning for the case to be reopened. If she has nothing to hide, then let her come forward and tell her side of the story. She wasn't there when Kurt died, nor when his body was discovered and her alibi is well known (arrested for drug possession in LA) but that doesn't leave her with clean hands; she could have hired someone to do it or gotten Cali to do it. Either way, she has been evading questions regarding Kurt's death for 10 years now.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not accusing Courtney. The evidence out there is circumstantial and unless Tom Grant can reveal his "smoking gun" evidence that he claims he has, we may never know the truth, if there is one. Personally, since coming to this board, I've learned to appreciate and even sympathize with Courtney Love. No matter who she is or what she may have done, it can't be easy carrying the load she's carrying. I never listened to Hole but I've seen Courtney's work in film and must admit she's in her eliment when she's on screen and I like her "Mono" song from "America's Sweetheart" and have no doubt she's an artist in her own right. She's not the best mom in the world, but she obviously loves her daughter very much and for the sake of Frances truly wants to be clean from drugs. She's taking all the right steps now and I applaud her for it. I only hope that in time, she'll take the next step from that and tell the whole truth for once; without embellishments, without predudice, without dellusions. Who knows, perhaps she had nothing to do with it and it was all rotten timing or perhaps there's something more sinister there. She's the only one who knows the whole truth.
That being said, whatever happened to Michael Cali Dewitt? After Kurt died, he seems to have dropped off the face of the earth.
