Something tells me this really bad and that she's a sell out and she's selling Kurt out but I won't deny it. It would very interesting to actually read it. I guess I don't want to though. Courtney has always been a crazed writer who doesn't make much sense so I guess you wouldn't be able to understand it anyway. Bree, as a Courtney fan would you buy this?
Courtney Love – The Diaries
Following the release of diaries chronicling the life of her late husband Kurt Cobain, Courtney Love has revealed she will be publishing her own book comprising diary entries, love letters and notes to the Nirvana singer.
Cobain's ‘Journals’ topped bestseller lists in November 2002, and now Love seems set upon following suit with a book about her life entitled ‘Love Diaries: My Life in Words and Pictures’
According to MTV2, the 250-page publication will include diary excerpts, love letters, previously unseen photographs of Cobain and their child, Frances Bean, unpublished lyrics, Hole memorabilia and sketches for fashion designs, including those made while Love was detained at Heathrow Airport after her alleged air rage incident in February last year.
Love's literary agent, David Vigliano, explained the apparent worth of such a collection of documents and writings, saying,
"The book features Courtney's legendary writings that have been whispered and wondered about for years, but that no one has ever seen. They're like the literary equivalent of Bob Dylan's Bootleg Series.
"This is too big a life to be contained by a standard autobiography. Love's life bridges the worlds of punk rock and Hollywood glamour, high fashion and San Francisco hippiedom. No other person's life touches so many cultures or such a broad cast of characters — from Julian Cope and Alex Cox to Milos Forman and Marlon Brando."
A sample quote from the book reads, "Like a virus on glucose, you're hungry, but I'm starving. ... I dream of Anne Sexton in her red negligee, with her therapist. ... I dream of life, life, life and truth. Now go to hell."
‘Love Diaries: My Life in Words and Pictures’ is expected to be published mid autumn.
Courtney Love’s new album ‘America's Sweetheart’ comes out on February 9 on Virgin Records (on February 11 Love is headed back to court where she faces two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance).
